Latvian State Forest Research Institute “Silava” signed an agreement with the Central Finance and Contracting Agency (CFLA) to implement the project “Development of Research and Innovation Capacity at the Latvian State Forest Research Institute ‘Silava’” on 22 September 2025.
The project aims to strengthen the Institute's capacity to conduct high-quality scientific research and generate innovations, enhancing its competitiveness both nationally and internationally. The plan includes developing material and technical resources, upgrading research infrastructure, and supporting human resource development.
Main activities include:
- Acquisition of new research equipment and modernization of existing infrastructure;
- Expansion and enhancement of research capacities;
- Strengthening collaboration with the private sector and scientific institutions;
- Development and integration of new technologies into research processes.
The Project will be implemented from 29 September 2025 till 31 December 2029.
The Project is supported under the European Union Cohesion Policy Programme 2021–2027. Funding is provided by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) in cooperation with the Latvian state.
