On September 16, the international scientific conference EuroDendro 2025 was officially opened in Riga, Latvia.
This is the 21st EuroDendro conference, and for the first time, it is being held in Latvia. The conference is organized by the Latvian State Forest Research Institute "Silava" in cooperation with international partners and takes place from 15 to 19 of September.
EuroDendro is the leading dendrochronology conference in Europe, bringing together scientists from around the globe to discuss tree-ring research and the environmental factors influencing wood growth and tree development.
This year's conference brings together 80 participants from 21 countries, including researchers from Canada and USA. The scientific program includes 42 oral presentations and 24 poster presentations.
The conference features six thematic sessions:
- Dendroarchaeology
- Dendroclimatology

- Dendrogeomorphology
- Isotope Applications in Wood Research
- Wood Anatomy
Researchers of LSFRI "Silava" actively participated with the following contributions:
- Pauls Zeltiņš, Diāna Jansone, Āris Jansons, Arnis Gailis, Roberts Matisons: Genetic control over growth sensitivity of Scots pine across edaphic gradient in hemiboreal conditions (oral presentation);
