The expected result of the study is verified harvesting methods and techniques for pre-commercial thinning (average tree height < 12 m) and commercial thinning or regenerative felling (average tree height > 12 m) using Moipu 300 F2 felling head; solutions for characterizing the impact of logging conditions (moisture regime, terrain) and planning of the forwarding of timber; cost estimates for timber production; evaluation of training effectiveness and quality requirements of future logging machine operators for work with Moipu 300 F2 felling head.
The results of the research will be available to forest owners, forest industry representatives, forestry service providers, including forestry equipment operators, secondary and higher education institutions that train logging machine operators and forestry engineers. At the end of the study, several practical workshops, introductory lectures and practical lessons are planned.
